While embedded css is useful for changing/styling many elements at once, inline css is useful for single instances of styling, and overwrites any embedded or external rules. For example if there is a piece of embedded css making all paragraph text size 20 font, you can make just one a different size by using inline styling. For anymore than one or two that you want a different size it would be better to use a class selector.
